Intimacy Coordinator

My MA in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies mixed with my extensive background in theatre and film, has given me not only a passion, but a deep understanding for the emotional relationships between the complexities of identities.
It is of the utmost importance to me that actors feel safe, taken care of and not triggered. This includes after-care and a clear space for them to talk and feel heard. At the same time, it is also important to keep production moving, and breath work, pre-planned strategies and regular check ins are part of the tools I use to make things run smoothly.
My Intimacy Coordination often coincides with Mental Health Coordination. As a Mental Health First Aider, I not only support actors on set, but also crew in difficult scenes of intense nature.
With my background and current activism work for social justice for self-identifying women, Intimacy Coordination is a perfect position for me. With the utmost focus on safety and comfortability, I work with the director to make intimate and intense scenes as smooth and authentic as possible for everyone on set.

I recognize that I live and work on the stolen lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Working from a world-wide anti-colonial standpoint is essential to my work in order to build bridges and attempt to heal some of the wounds that have been caused by colonizing settlers,. Furthermore, I strive to highlight Indigenous voices in all the work I do, as well as honour the land that they have kept safe since time immemorial.
